The RFL Sports Medicine, Performance & Coaching Department is delighted to announce that its inaugural conference will be held in Leeds at The Thackray Museum.
The two days will focus on medical, scientific and performance issues identified by doctors and physiotherapists currently working with Rugby League clubs.
The event will be both interactive and interdisciplinary with many themes also being of interest to practitioners working with other sports, whilst a conference dinner will also take place at The Thackray Museum on the 10th.
The Conference themes include:
Teams Sports, The Future of Medicine in Team Sports, The Sporting Shoulder, Hamstring Rehabilitation, Fluids in Team Sports & estimating Sweat Loss, Sports Nutrition, The Sporting Knee, The Sporting Ankle, Concussion in Team Sport, Supplement usage in Team Sports, The Legal Implications of Medical Staff working in Team Sports, Health Records on Trial, Handling the Media, Post RL World Cup Medical Review, Medical Contracts and Service Agreements in Team Sports, Psychology in Team Sports, Skills Acquisition & Decision Making, When Art meets Science – Recovery & Performance, The Good, the Bad & the Ugly – hosted by a senior coach
Additional practical sessions include:
Ultrasound Imaging in the Field, TUE’s in Team Sports, An analysis of the heart rate responses to altering playing area size in rugby small-sided games, Kinesiotape Demo, Injections and their role in Sport, Maturation – the Usual Suspect!
