BBC Stars sign Challenge Cup flag

As part of this year's marketing campaign for the Carnegie Challenge Cup, which focuses on the emotions people have with the 113 year old competition, a giant flag measuring 20 metres by 13 metres will be touring grounds up and down the country over the next five months.

Split into eight sections, parts of the flag will be at three of this weekend's cup ties starting with Saturday's televised game between Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos at the KC Stadium.  On Sunday sections of the flag will also be at the Galpharm Stadium for Huddersfield Giants' game with Hull KR and The Shay for Siddal's big game against Batley Bulldogs.

Those who sign the flag over the weekend can then look forward to seeing all eight pieces assembled for the first time on the hallowed turf at Wembley for the 2010 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final on Saturday August 28.

Phil Williams, the RFL's Marketing Manager, said: "This year's campaign is all about people of all age ranges and from all walks of life sharing the emotions and experiences they have with this famous competition.

"Rather than telling us what it was like on their first visit Wembley or how they felt when their team won the cup for the first time, we'd like them to write down on the flag exactly what this competitions means to them.

"Over the coming months players past and present, coaches, supporters and celebrities will all be signing the flag and by doing so they'll be part of history as their emotion or experience will be displayed on the Wembley pitch on cup final day."

Details of where the flag can be found in the coming months will be posted on the official Carnegie Challenge Cup website, www.carnegiechallengecup.co.uk
