Bradford Bulls' Fijiian winger Semi Tadulala has been cleared to play in the World Cup after avoiding suspension when he appeared before the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary panel.
The former Melbourne and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player was put on report for a high tackle on Wigan Warriors threequarter Cameron Phelps during the Bulls’ 30-14 play-off defeat last Friday.
The panel found him guilty of a careless tackle and fined him £500.
Any suspension would have counted towards the World Cup, in which Fiji play group matches against France and Scotland.
Tadulala, who has scored 23 tries in his first season at Odsal since joining from them from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, is out of contract but expected to sign a new deal.
Meanwhile, Catalans Dragons have suffered a blow ahead of Saturday’s engage Super League play-off semi-final against Wigan Warriors with the loss of loose forward Gregory Mounis.
The 23-year-old, who has missed only one match all season, has been handed a one-match ban after being found guilty of striking an opponent with his elbow during the Dragons’ 46-8 win over Warrington Wolves in their opening play-off tie.
Mounis was cited by the Rugby Football League’s match review panel and his case was heard via a telephone link between Red Hall and Perpignan.
